ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) – A man is dead after a shooting outside Orlando’s Magic Mall on Sunday.
The Orlando Police Department said it responded to a reported shooting at 2155 West Colonial Drive around 2:19 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found the victim Joseph U. Phillips, suffering from a bullet wound, and were declared dead at the scene.
Research reveals that Phillips was at a bar and restaurant on Junction Island, but was out in the same way that debate broke out among groups of people in the parking lot.
During the altercation, the suspect produced a firearm and attempted to shoot another individual, leading to a behind-the-scenes attack in which the victim was attacked, police said.
Detectives at the Orlando Police Station identified the suspect as Keishawn A. Richards, and he was taken into custody.
Orlando police have charged Richards with manslaughter.
