New York politicians convicted of federal corruption and bribery charges could face more prison time as South Florida officials claim they are hoarding hundreds of child sexual abuse videos on their phones after being suspended on a labor flight in Miami.
According to federal criminal charges, he came from 54-year-old Cuba, Cuba, Dan Halloran and Dan Halloran, who landed at Miami International Airport on March 29 on his way back to New York. After quitting his American Airlines flight, US customs and border guards flagged Halloran for a “secondary inspection.”
The agent searched his devices, iPhone and iPad, where he made a jarring discovery. Hundreds of videos of child porn stated. At least 35 videos show child sexual abuse, including children who have been “pre-separated.”
He also had a text chat on his phone, revealing that Halloran had purchased some of the child pornography. This was offered in regular, premium, VIP or special packages ranging from $50 to $500.
After arresting him, law enforcement said they told him that two-thirds to three-thirds of the videos in the hidden folder were child pornography. The folder contained 1,362 videos.
On Tuesday afternoon, Halloran was held at the Federal Detention Center in Miami on charges of possession of child pornography and transporting child pornography.
In 2014, Halloran was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He only served half of the New York political leaders due to the Covid-19 pandemic on charges that included bribery to affect elections and embezzlement.
He was elected to the New York City Council from 2010 to 2013.
