ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) – The former co-owner of the Orange City karate studio was arrested Thursday, according to the Volsia County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office said 55-year-old Jason Mummer was arrested for a crime that began at the National Karate Studios in 2022.
The incident was first reported to Deland and Orange City police in December 2023 after the alleged incident in Deltona, before the VSO was notified and investigation began.
The VSO said Mummaw was no longer a co-owner of the National Karate Studios and taught from 2016 to 2023.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and the Orange Police Department have accused Mumma of unlawful sexual activity with minor minors and sexual batteries by people in authority positions.
Mummaw is being held at Volusia County Jail without being held.
