The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) is embarking on a $560 million expansion project, bringing another 44,000 square feet of meeting space and a 100,000 square feet of ballroom to the north and south building. Construction of the Grand Concourse expansion will begin in 2026 and is expected to end in 2029.

“We look forward to starting work on expanding the Grand Concourse,” said Mark Tester, Executive Director of OCCC. “This project will significantly improve our convention centers as it continues to meet growing client needs and growth in the conference and events industry.”

The expansion of the Grand Concourse provides the north and south buildings with enhanced connectivity, a flexible ground ballroom, multi-purpose meeting room space and multi-purpose areas for additional capabilities.

Additionally, OCCC has received approval to design the second phase of the expansion project. Phase 5B brings another 200,000 square feet of adjacent multipurpose/exhibition space to the building, and also incorporates connectivity between the North and Southern alliances. Once completed, both phases will provide a total of 1.5 million square feet of exhibition space for the north-south buildings.
