JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — Two 17-year-old boys have joined four other men in connection with the shooting in the murder of a seven-year-old boy in Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has announced.

Sheriff TK Waters said the teenager was a gunman who pulled the trigger, causing the death of 7-year-old Breon Allen Jr. on January 24th.

The sheriff said it led to a planned attack on Bleon’s cousin, 21-year-old gang associate Rafayette Mango Jr., about 5pm.

Both Allen and Mango were rushed to the hospital. Allen died of injuries, but Mango was seriously injured.

Four other men — Keith Johnson, 21, Daniel Larkins, 20, Zharod Sykes, 24, Keith Fields, were previously arrested for involvement in the case. On March 12, the department announced that the man was facing charges of second-degree murder, murder conspiracy and first-degree murder attempts.

Fields, Larkins and Sykes are all documented gang members, while Johnson is a documented gang associate, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

“Now we are standing with Bleon’s loved ones and the state’s attorney’s office as the perpetrators receive the punishment they deserve. We do not tolerate this evil in our community,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

The two teenagers were arrested on charges of murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to murder.
