Set in the theme park at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, two stage shows have an opening date. Both “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and “Disney Villains: Fullrailly Ever After” will debut on May 27th the day after the anniversary.

The “Mermaid” show essentially replaces “The Little Mermaid’s Voyage”, but the latter has been closed since March 2020 and the beginning of the pandemic shutdown. In December 2023, the new production was announced at the target opening date in 2024. The theatre in the park’s animation courtyard was refreshed for an updated show.
Last summer, Walt Disney World said the new show will have live performers, puppets and an all-new set. It was also advertised to start with a production number for the new “Daughter Triton.”

Disney World also appears under the sea. The Little Mermaid’s journey, a dark ride in Magic Kingdom.
The villain show was announced in September 2024. It will be performed at the Sunset Showcase Building, which previously housed the “Racing Academy of Lightning McQueen,” a show inspired by the “cars” in the shadow of a “car”-inspired terrorist attraction. It was said to feature Magic Mirror Mojo, including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent.
The villain-themed land is under work on Magic Kingdom. Other projects set for Hollywood Studios include land inspired by “Monsters, Inc.” And a rethink of the Muppet-based Rock ‘n’ roller coaster.
