Allgaier wins the Xfinity race at Homestead after Larson’s set-off

MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) – Homestead’s Xfinity race looked like a one-man show on Saturday.

Kyle Larson dominated the race, leading 129 laps, and apparently cruising and winning an easy victory.

Larson won the Baptist Health 200 on track racing tracks on Friday night, looking to add to his weekend success.

After that, just a few laps, Taylor Gray spun out and a warning flag was issued.

At the time, Larson was far ahead of his closest candidate.

However, when Field bundled up for a restart, Larson was slapped by the car behind him. His wheels spun, and he quickly retreated.

The warning opened the door for Justin Earlgaier, who took the checkered flag.

“The team never gave up. Please tell me what I need to do when there’s a team that’s gathering behind you and pushing you to get better and get on the radio all the time.

The Illinois native was refreshing from his victory in Las Vegas, but after a penalty from NASCAR he began his day behind the field. He then fought back in the top five.

“We knew we had a really fast Chevrolet when you could get yourself back to the top 10 pretty easily,” Allgaier said.

Even he admits that Kyle Larson was the dominant driver of the day.

“Kyle Larson was the best car of today and his strength was definitely long-term. We had the opportunity to lift our heads with him in the short term, so that helped us,” Allgaier said.

With the victory, he also takes home $100,000 as the winner of the Dash 4 Cash from Xfinity, leading the season early in series points rankings.
