Miami (WFLA) – This weekend, X-Finity and NASCAR Cup Series drivers will head to South Florida after crossing the country from Las Vegas to Homestead.
For many drivers, the Homestead/Miami truck is a favorite.
“I like the variety that the truck has. You can run towards the wall. That’s what the truck is famous for, but you can also run at the bottom anywhere in the white line and in the middle.”
Gibbs’ Bell teammate Denny Hamlin also likes the track.
“It’s a track I like and it’s really early in my career,” Hamlin said.
For Hamlin, Homestead offers many unique challenges he enjoys.
“It has many traits that make it difficult, it makes it challenging, and I always feel that the more I try at the racecourse, the more I can shine my talent,” Hamlin said.
The X-Finity driver has a chance to shine first in Saturday’s race.
Viking Motorsport driver Matt Divelendet said it’s the cars that make his series exciting.
“I’m driving an X-Finity car now, so I’m reminding me of 2017 and 2018 with the Cup Series,” says Dibenedetto. “We had all the horsepower. We had small spoilers, low downforce, sliding around.”
He also likes the challenge of Homestead’s gifts, and thinks fans love the excitement of X-Finity Racing.
“Personally, if everyone is honest, I think I would agree that these cars are the most enjoyable to race,” Divelendet said.
