Brandon, Fla. (WFLA) – An obituary published earlier this week shows that Florida men are remembered for leading a life consisting of “Marlboroughs, Fast Women, Ford Broncos.”
Arthur Nixon Bates IV passed away on March 5, 2025. His obituary was published in the Tampa Bay Times about two weeks later, and the author stated that Bates had succumbed to his “drug life” and other life choices.
Florida man is executed today for the murder of an 8-year-old girl, her grandmother
“He is survived by three daughters, but no one knows how they come to the point without his father calling for cigarettes and methadone to ask for $20,” his Obit read.
Legacy.com, an online provider of death and commemoration, some people expressed true sadness in the comments, writing “life in which life lived” and “a good person died.”
Others wrote comments such as “He still owe $20” and “I would have given you Marlborough.”
According to his Obit, Bates was cremated at a Brandon facility. Individuals are given the option to plant trees in his memory by visiting sympathy shops.
