Cairo – It’s not easy to pilot a train with tooth strength. But for Ashraf Mahloo, an Egyptian wrestler also known for his nickname, Kabonga, it’s just one thing he can do to show off his incredible power.
This week’s Mahrous received formal recognition from the Guinness World Records in three categories, including the heaviest rail pull using only his teeth. His other two certificates are for the heaviest locomotive pull and the fastest 100 meters road vehicle pull.
He says he pulled a two-ton locomotive within 40 seconds.
On Thursday, we gathered at Ramses Station in downtown Cairo to cheer him on as they pulled a train (279 tons) with a rope held by teeth at a distance of nearly 33 feet.
He then repeated the feats, tugging the train with a strap around his shoulder to cheer the audience on.
Marlus, who is in his 40s and is also the president of the Egyptian Federation for professional wrestlers in Egypt, was previously recognized by the international franchise for cracking 11 raw eggs in 30 seconds in February 2024, and pulling a 15,730-kilometer truck in June 2021.
Dorett Ernakev, who runs the sports company, one of the organizers of Thursday’s sights in the Egyptian capital, said Maras had trained just 20 days before the event, but was not very consistent.
Mahrous simply has “an extraordinary strength,” Elnakeb said.
