FWC announced the weekend of license-free freshwater fishing

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – This spring’s numberless freshwater fishing weekend was announced by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee.

License-free fishing weekends take place on April 5th and 6th, allowing residents and visitors to explore many freshwater fishing opportunities.

Two family fishing events will be held throughout the weekend:

Tenoroc Fishin Management Area 3829 Tenoroc Mine Road, Lakeland, Lakeland, Pre-registration is required on April 5th between 8am and 1pm, and FWC must be registered at 863-648-3200 on Friday, April 4th at 5pm. Casting contests, exhibitors and other outdoor activities will take part in the event. Free lunches are offered by Florida Bait’s Publix and The Fish & Wildlife Foundation, with a limited number of available rods and reels available for children under the age of 15. Parents or guardians must accompany the child. Participants must bring fishing gear and bait with them, 788 County Road, 3583, April 5th, at Webster, FL, from 9am to 2pm. A free lunch of hot dogs and burgers is served by Vital Fleet Services.
