OCKECHOBEE, Fla. (WFLA) – In a new twist, police say a Florida man currently administering life in prison for killing a family member is linked to a murder-hiring conspiracy, including a reality TV star.

The Las Vegas Police Department said investigators believe Grant Amato and Victoria Goodwin are planning on killing her husband Aaron Goodwin, known for his role in the show “Ghost Adventure.”

According to information reported by NBC affiliate Wesh, the two were clearly in love, with Victoria Goodwin paying $11,515 to drive her husband away. Their relationship began when Victoria Goodwin began writing letters to Amato after seeing him in a true crime documentary, the arrest report said.

Amato was convicted in 2019 of killing his parents and brother at a Seminole County home. The murder was further investigated in an April 2024 documentary series entitled “Ctrl+Alt+Desire.”

Correctional officers at the Okeechobee Correctional Institution seized Amato’s phone and found a text message between him and Victoria Goodwin, dating back to October 2024, according to arrest reports obtained by Wesh.

In one message, investigators said, “I’m so worried Lollor, I can’t believe it’s happening… how did I get to this point?”, “Because I chose to end his existence, because it’s not divorce.”

She is also believed to provide Amato information about her husband’s whereabouts. Police said Amato would check in with Hitman at some point.[Aaron Goodwin] I’m sleeping in my hotel room now… brothers. You need to know what’s going on. Can I get updates? Was it finished? ”

Victoria Goodwin was arrested last Thursday in Nevada, where she and her husband live and accused of soliciting and conspiracy to commit murder. She is being held in Clark County, Nevada on a $100,000 bond.

As of March 13, Ahlong Dwin had not yet commented on the investigation.

The Florida Department of Corrections provided WESH with the following statement regarding the situation:

“The FDC maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding cell phone use in prisons. The agency conducts regular cell checks to search for all types of smuggling. Working with law enforcement partners, we will ensure the safety and security of both staff and prisoners in the FDC correctional facilities and the community.”
