Din Levin says he was not surprised by his efforts to stop him from delivering his address.
In a recent speech to the United Nations, Chinese diplomats suspended Falun Gong practitioners after attempting to expose Chinese communists’ crimes against humanity.
Islam rejected the Chinese delegation’s allegations and after stating Ding’s comments were “in order,” he returned the floor to Ding to complete the address.
Ding ended his speech by calling on the council to appoint a special rapporteur to investigate the Chinese regime’s practice of forcing organs to be harvested from prisoners of conscience for sale and transplantation.
He gave a speech on behalf of the Association for the Black-headed People, a German-based human rights organization.
The CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong, now in its 25th year, has led to the detention and imprisonment of millions of Falun practitioners in China, according to the Falun Gong Information Center. While incarcerated, many are undergoing torture, forced labor, and other inhumane medical treatment.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dhafa, is a spiritual discipline with meditative exercises and moral teachings based on the principles of truth, compassion and tolerance. Before the persecution began in 1999, the practice was freely practiced in China, placing a number of practitioners between 70 million and 100 million, estimated at the time.
Ding told the Epoch Times on March 9 that the suspension of the Chinese delegation was a “predictory.”
“Every time Falun Gong’s practitioners give speeches at the UN or the Human Rights Council, they are unfairly suspended by the CCP,” Ding said, adding that Beijing has not succeeded in preventing practitioners from making their statements.
“The Chinese Communist Party’s delegation has not rebutted any of the crimes committed against Falun Gong’s practitioners,” Ding added.
“In order to eliminate the oppression of the Chinese Communist Party of Japan’s crimes, they simply tried to cover up crimes against humanity, spread lies, and export forced and cross-border crackdowns.”
He expressed his hope that the UN can remove China from the Human Rights Council.
Ding advocates for the release of his father Ding Yuande, a practitioner of Falun Gong, who was sentenced to three years in China in December 2023.
Ding’s mother, Ma Ruimei, also a practitioner of Falun Gong, is under surveillance in her hometown for an international campaign to save her father, Ding writes.
“Ongoing persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese communist regime has separated the three families,” he wrote.
“Now is the time to #end the CCP’s continued national crimes against Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience.”
