Police believe a Florida woman was killed after the body, and a burned car was found

TITSVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — The Brevard County missing person’s lawsuit has turned to a murder investigation after the body of a woman was found amid a series of circumstances that detectives call “very suspicious.”

Jesse Kirk, 72, was reported missing by a friend on Tuesday, March 4th, according to NBC affiliate WESH. Kirk’s friend told Titusville police that it was very unusual for her to not appear.

Investigators said multiple surveillance cameras across the city captured Kirk’s movement in the hours before she lost her. Her white Lincoln SUV was moving around town from 9pm on Monday until 4:15am on Tuesday.

Kirk’s nie appeared at a condo on South Washington Avenue on Tuesday and recognized the Red Honda parked in the area, Wesh reported. Police said the vehicle belonged to 35-year-old David Barber.

Detectives say they discovered that barbers are loiting in the area and realized that he appears to be important. Police encountered Kirk’s vehicle in the same time slot in Orange County. Officers said her white Lincoln was on fire.

Authorities say Barber was arrested for lo bullets and wandering and is considered someone interested in Kirk’s murder.

Her body was found on March 6th near the Transport Canal Bridge.
