One caller reported that a naked man was in and out of the rear door of the apartment. The officers arrived and saw what they said seemed to have blood coming from under the unit’s main entrance.
When the front door was opened, officers found the victim’s body on the other side, the report said. A handgun was also found lying on the ground in the backyard of the apartment.
Officials discovered that suspect Jorge Omar Torres, 29, was naked and naked in the neighbour’s backyard a few minutes later.
Officials said Torres lived in an apartment with his parents. When questioned, Torres said he arrived at the house the day after he had taken 2 grams of mushrooms he had bought from a friend and was smoking a marijuana cigarette.
When he began hallucinating, Torres told his brother “we need to kill cockroaches outside,” and his brother “seemed to look like a lizard and a cockroach,” the report said.
He then went to the room, grabbed a 9mm firearm and pointed it at his brother, according to the report. Investigators say Torres told them he felt he was a “bad guy” but that he had thought of killing his brother as he would eventually change his mind and put away his weapons.
Torres’ mother soon arrived at the house and they began to discuss his happiness. His mother told him to go to his room and lie down, but instead, police said Torres had climbed the bedroom window naked.
He told detectives that at the time he felt he needed to “make the dog safe” and that he needed to put his pet in his sibling’s car. After persuading him to come back inside, Torres’ mother locked the front door and urged her to believe she was the “bad guy” now, officials reported.
According to arrest reports, he returned to the room to retrieve the firearm and fired three to six rounds at his mother.
His brother reported that he found him hiding behind the car. At that point, Torres called him a cockroach and ran again and jumped over the fence, the report said.
Torres was booked to prison, and the judge ordered him to be held without restraint.
