Florida man accused of hiding stolen ID, credit card with Watercup after stealing $150,000

NAPOLIA, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida man said Wednesday that he had stole his identity, committed fraudulent transactions and tried to hide his stolen ID and credit card in the Watercup.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Eugene Kleiman, 39, of Cape Coral, was held several times at the Third Bank, 3775 Santa Barbara Boulevard, Naples, and pretended to be the account owner who lived in Georgia.

Kleyman presents a fake driver’s license and uses that ID to commit fraudulent transactions, totaling over $150,000.

During a visit to the bank, authorities said that a bank employee became suspicious and contacted the account holder.

On Tuesday, Clayman attempted another bank visit, having the employee set up an appointment that afternoon. What Clayman didn’t know was that he was contacted by the sheriff’s office and handcuffed rather than getting the money.

Detained lawmakers said Clayman had asked for a glass of water. When they retrieved the cup from him, they found Georgia’s driver’s license and the victim’s credit card inside. The ID included a photo of Kleyman with the account owner’s name and personal information.

Clayman was arrested and charged with over $100,000 theft and identity theft.
