Orange County lawmakers arrived at the homeless camp at 8801 Exchange Drive in Orlando and found the victim, Kenneth Marello Cardona.
Marero Cardona’s girlfriend told detectives she went into a homeless camp to get drugs. When they arrived they met with 33-year-old Emily Treusch and her boyfriend, 36-year-old Kenneth Gibson.
Treusch invited the trio to hang out in their tents if they wanted. However, when Gibson and Marero Cardona got caught up in a verbal debate, Treusch went to her tent and came out with a long gun-style pellet gun and shot Marero Cardona in the chest, the affidavit said.
Her girlfriend told an official she thought Marero Cardona was making a joke until she realized he wasn’t breathing. According to the affidavit, when she began crying out and calling 911, Gibson pointed out her to the apparent silver revolver, threatening to kill her and refused to let her leave.

Treusch had snatched his girlfriend’s phone, but Gibson tried to get her to take medicine to calm her down. Gibson then hugged the woman at the muzzle and led her to the tent, the document said. Treuch then commented, saying that she always wanted Marrero-Cardona to die.
According to the affidavit, Gibson grabbed a syringe and thrust it into Marero Cardona’s arm, setting his death as an overdose. Treusch and Gibson then took off and took the victim’s girlfriend’s phone and gun.
Witnesses who accompanied Marero Cardona and his girlfriend to the camp were able to call 911 to identify the suspect.
The detective retrieved a long broken gun (pellet or BB), a pellet handgun, light, pellet, crack cocaine, trail cameras, syringes and some handguns that appear to be a cell phone.
Marrero-Cardona was taken to a nearby hospital and later died. An autopsy confirmed that his death was due to a gunshot that plunged into his right lung. The way of death was ruled and murder.
Treusch was arrested on April 3rd on second-degree murder charges with weapons, tricks and robbery. That same day, Gibson was arrested on charges of kidnapping and accessories after the fact. The affidavit said the accusation of the temptation was to prevent the victim’s girlfriend from leaving the homeless camp after the murder.
