FORT LAUDERDALE – Getting back into rhythm.
The Florida Panthers have a record of 5-5-0 despite a number of injuries.
As of Monday, that’s still good enough for third place in the Atlantic Division.
On Saturday, the bounce-back Panthers posted an impressive 3-0 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights at Amerant Bank Arena, handing the Western Conference contender their first regulation loss of the season.
“We had a little bit of leg tonight,” head coach Paul Maurice said. “I felt like things changed in the middle of the game against Pittsburgh. Once the game started, it was holding us back. It seems like a lot of games, especially early in the year, are going to cost you. We were hoping to get some of that offensive spark back.”
With just two games this week, the Panthers will conclude their homestand against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday and the Dallas Stars on Saturday.
“They’re very skilled and have a good power play,” defenseman Gustav Forsling said of the Ducks. So (we) need to stay out of the box and (bring) the level of competitiveness that we had, just like we had in the last game. ”

Gregor’s debut
There will be a new face added to the Panthers lineup on Tuesday.
Forward Noah Gregor is expected to make his regular season debut against the Ducks, according to Morris.
“He’s been here enough. I think he’s been able to control his game pretty well just in practice,” Maurice said.
Gregor played in 293 career games with the San Jose Sharks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators, racking up 70 points (36G, 34A) and 553 hits.
Bobrovsky achieves 50th career shutout win
The milestones continue for Sergei Bobrovsky.
On Saturday, the 37-year-old goaltender recorded his 50th career shutout in a 3-0 win over the Golden Knights.
According to NHL statistics, Bobrovsky joins an elite group of Dominik Hasek, Henryk Lundqvist, Pekka Rinne, Evgeni Nabokov, Jaroslav Halak, Tuukka Rask and Tomas Vokun to become the eighth goaltender born outside of North America to reach 50 shutouts.
“There were definitely a lot of games,” Bobrovsky said of the feat. “I’m grateful to God for the journey. I’m grateful to the players I’ve played with and the coaches I’ve coached. I’m excited for the future. That’s all in the past and I’m excited for the next game.”
