Wesley Chapel – What’s the name?
If it’s the latest hospital in Wesley Chapel, the answer is:
8 words and 55 letters, a bite to test receptionist’s endurance: Floridadical Clinic Orlando Healthwireglass Ranch Hospital.
The name was officially released this month, but yes, it’s a big deal. But those who will become Wesley Chapel’s biggest hospital will say it’s a big name for a big deal.
“What’s very exciting about what’s going on is that I’ve lived here for over 40 years. This is the most exciting healthcare project that this community has ever seen.”
The hospital at 3000 Wiregrass Ranch Blvd. is scheduled to open in 102 rooms in spring 2026 and will be fully built-out to expand to 300 beds.
The facility will include nine operating rooms (including hybrids or offering advanced capabilities that allow for real-time imaging), a high-tech robotic surgical suite, and a state-of-the-art endoscopy laboratory.
Delatorre has promoted a “incredible” partnership with Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute in Orlando, another benefit for local patients.
“The residents of this community are really going to get the best care possible,” he said. “I was not part of a project where doctors are very involved and actually working with ownership and design at a new facility, which is incredibly important to Orlando Health.
Dr. Orlando Health, Florida clinic, designed the facility collaboratively and selected some of the cutting-edge technology and services offered.
Many of the people who helped shape the hospital’s design were given a hard hat tour this month and were pleased with what they saw.
“If you look around, a lot of the things here are custom designed for doctors, surgeons, medical documents, cardiologists and lung specialists,” said rheumatologist David Sykes. “All of our experts come here, they are primary care teams and hospitalists. Many hospitals are designed specifically for us.”
The hospital is one of the centerpieces of the upcoming Legacy Downtown Project at Wireglass Ranch, which will combine major developments such as healthcare, retail and housing.
The hospital’s plans were first announced by Orlando Health in 2022, and in August 2023 a partnership was formed with Florida clinics, a multi-specialized physician group consisting of over 350 healthcare providers in 40 healthcare specialties at 54 locations.
The collaboration marked the creation of Florida clinic Orlando Health, and in 2024 further strengthened the rebranding and partnership of Bayfront Health Medical Group under the name Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health.

“We have a lot of patients in this area. I think it’s going to be a game changer in this area, so we have a facility where our experts can come and call themselves where they can come and treat patients.”
Orlando Health is also planning to open a hospital in Lakeland in 2026. It also complements two separate emergency rooms (one in Lutz and the other in North Lakeland) to complement each new hospital.
Floridadical Clinic Orlando Healthwireglass Ranch Hospital is the third hospital in Wesley Chapel and will be participating in Wesley Chapel at Advent Health Wesley Chapel and BayCare Hospital Wesley Chapel.
The three hospitals are within four miles of each other.
The fourth hospital, Johns Hopkins All Children Hospital, recently broke the ground north at Wesley Chapel and plans to open a pediatric facility in 2027.
