Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – Traveling to your local Walmart location may look a little different later this year. The retailer announced Wednesday that it plans to remodel its Florida stores in dozens.
The company said it has invested more than $1.6 billion in the past five years to upgrade stores across Florida.
Walmart plans to remodel more than 650 stores across the United States, including 34 in Sunshine.
Changes that come to many Walmart stores include new big, bold signs and an expansion division for more choices and new items. Online pickup and delivery will be expanded to help meet more customer orders.
Walmart is also making changes to its pharmacy area. The area has a wider corridor, a new private screening room and a privacy check-out area.
The next Florida store is scheduled to be remodeled this year.
Walmart will also open two new nearby market stores in Milton and Pace.
