Volunteers build 15,000 backpacks for kids to help them in the grade

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Dozens of Bullard Foundation volunteers have built 15,000 backpacks for students in need on Saturday mornings.

As summer flies, families prepare for another first day at school. To alleviate some of the stress, the Bullard Family Foundation is holding its 8th Annual Revival Bash.

“It’s an opportunity to continue investing in our community, investing in our kids, and investing in these teachers. Every time I see these teachers have to buy school supplies from their own money, I’m very frustrated, along with not paying what they are due.”

Volunteers spent several hours on Saturday making thousands of backpacks for the kids.

“The reality is that it’s the first day of school, and we’re all seated, but the places we came are not always the same. So this is a great opportunity to level the arena and show that we can come together as a community and support the entire student body. School.

Each one was packed full of notebooks and other school supplies for students.

“Every child deserves a chance to start the grade with their right foot and we want to give them the best chance to succeed in the grade.

“You never know what one of these backpacks will do for a particular person,” Bullard said.

Back to school bash is not only an opportunity for children to get the supplies they need, but also an opportunity for the whole family to check their health.

“If we can help our family by doing blood pressure checks, mammograms and more, what about it, whether they have haircuts, whether they’re getting a clean teeth while their kids are being given.

School supply prizes and school return bashes will take place on Saturday, July 26th. Click here for more information.
