Gainesville, Fla. (WFLA) – A traffic stop ended after a suspect struck a ditch Wednesday through Gainesville.

According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, 20-year-old Adasian Armstrong, later told deputies he had decided to run away because he had had a bad day and had no knowledge of the drugs found in his vehicle.

Suspect injured in a secondary gunshot outside Brooksville Publix: Sheriff

The March 19 incident began the moment Armstrong was pulled out on the 67th southwest terrace and was filmed on dash cameras by multiple lawmakers. Officials said Armstrong rushed out of a traffic stop and fled the neighborhood westwards, eventually making contact with another Alachua County Deputy Department.

In the video, Armstrong Swave shows a swive towards the lieutenant’s vehicle, nearly crashing directly into the lieutenant. The adjutant could be heard mentioning his radio.

Officials said Armstrong continued to drive recklessly at highways until he eventually crashed on U.S. Highway 441. He was given an order and was taken into custody.

His search for the car resulted in 10 grams of MDMA, multiple scales, and several clear empty buggies, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies also learned that Armstrong’s license had been suspended.

He was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and fleeing law enforcement, reckless driving with property damage, possession with intent to sell an MDMA, possession of drug-related equipment, and driving with a suspension license.
