ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) – UCF football’s offensive line coach passed away unexpectedly on Sunday night, UCF Athletics announced.
Sean Clark, 50, passed away Sunday evening after experiencing a medical emergency on Tuesday, September 9th.
“Shaun was more than a coach. He was an incredible guy, husband and father who cared deeply about his players and staff,” UCF head coach Scott Frost said. “The players and coaches’ response to the news this morning are testament to Sean’s personality and the impact he had on every life he touched. He was loved. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Jonell and his children, Jayana and Braxton.
Coach Clark joined UCF in December 2024 after he served as head coach for Appalachian State, UCF Athletics said.
Clark also coached in Eastern, Kentucky, Purdue, Kent and APP states.
“We are heartbroken with Sean’s passing,” said UCF vice president and athletics director Terry Mohazil. “He brought passion, integrity and true love to people in everything he did. Sean is remembered not only for his influence on football games, but also for his relationships he built and the examples he set up as husband and father.
Director Clark is survived by his wife and two children.
