São Paulo – Two people have died and six others were injured when a small plane crashed onto a bus on Brazil’s busy Sao Paulo Avenue Friday morning, local fire department said.
The two bodies were found to be burnt in the fuselage of a Beach F90 King aircraft that took off from Sao Paulo, tied up towards the city of Porto Alegre in southern Brazil, according to the local government.
The plane crashed on Marquez de Zao Vicente Avenue and then hit a bus, they said.
“Unfortunately, we started the day with this tragic crash of the plane,” Gov. Tarticio de Freitas wrote on social media, with the victim being an aircraft pilot and co-pilot. He added.
“It is worth highlighting the rapid action of the fire department that put out the flames in minutes and prevented this tragedy from getting even bigger.”
According to the fire department, a woman traveling by bus and a biker attacked by equipment were taken to the hospital. The other four suffered minor injuries.
