It’s called Trump Rx. The Trump administration says the plan is to reduce health care costs and ensure Floridians have access to the medicines they need at dramatically lower prices.
“Americans can now purchase some of the most widely used and most expensive medicines on the market at deep discounts,” the White House said.
Health experts say the program is specifically designed for uninsured patients and those whose insurance doesn’t cover certain drugs.
Examples of low costs include:
Insulin is available for as little as $25 per month. Ozempic and Wegovy, which help treat diabetes, heart disease, obesity and other conditions, cost more than $1,000 a month.

Over $2,000 per cycle for Gonal F, Cetrotide, and Ovidrel fertility drugs. The Bevespi Aerosphere and Air Supra inhalers, used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cost more than $400 each.
A bill to codify this is supported by Florida Republicans, including Representative Anna Paulina Luna.
Conservative groups will not participate.
More than 50 conservative leaders and free market groups have signed a letter opposing the president’s plan, according to TheHill.com.
