WASHINGTON — Plans for a presidential library honoring Donald Trump are taking shape, with new details emerging that show the project could become one of Miami’s most prominent structures.
Speaking at the White House Easter Egg Roll, Eric Trump said the proposed library would be the tallest building in Miami and would be located in a prime location on the waterfront. He described the project as a major architectural landmark and said the development team was “really excited” about its progress.
Renderings released last week show a skyscraper towering over Miami’s skyline, with Trump’s name prominently displayed near the top. Eric Trump said the facility will be built on about 2.6 acres of land in downtown Miami that was transferred from the state of Florida for the project.
The property was previously owned by Miami Dade College and was used as a parking lot until it was returned to the state. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis subsequently transferred the property to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation for development.
Plans for the building include several high-profile features related to Trump’s presidency and public persona. This includes the Boeing 747 that served as Air Force One, which will be displayed in the building’s lobby. Eric Trump did not provide details on how the aircraft would be installed, but suggested a structure could be built around the aircraft.

Additional elements include a replica of the Oval Office from the Trump era, a replica of the President’s Walk of Fame and a golden escalator commemorating his 2015 campaign announcement. A bronze statue of President Trump will also be part of the exhibit.
Eric Trump said the project is intended to serve as a single presidential library for his father, even though Trump’s terms are not consecutive. Previous discussions considered a possible site in New York City.
President Trump has also indicated that the building could include a commercial component, possibly functioning in part as a hotel, reflecting his long involvement in the hospitality industry.
Eric Trump said the project will be funded by private donations and that he is overseeing construction to ensure the library properly reflects his father’s legacy. A construction start date has not yet been announced, nor is there a timeline for completion.
Eric Trump also drew a contrast between the proposed Miami project and Barack Obama’s presidential center in Chicago, offering a critical assessment of its design.
