Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – Low-pressure areas are expected to occur this weekend along weak points near the Atlantic coast of Florida or the southeastern United States.

If the system moves north or northeasterly, tropical or subtropical depression can form on the weekend or early next week.

Environmental conditions are slightly advantageous for slow development.

Heavy rain could occur across parts of the southeastern United States, particularly the coastline of western Florida, the NHC said.

The chance of formation in the next 48 hours is 10%.

The chances of formation over the next 7 days are 50%.
