
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Three Florida cities made the list of the best places for Halloween festivities in 2025, according to a WalletHub study.
Using 20 metrics to determine the best places to spend Halloween without spending a scary amount of money, WalletHub named Miami, Orlando, and Hialeah as three of the top 20 cities for spooky season in 2025.
“This year, the average U.S. household can expect to spend $114.45 on Halloween costs, from decorations to treats to costumes,” WalletHub said. “For the 73% of households celebrating, that adds up to about $13.1 billion.”
WalletHub said it compared the 100 largest U.S. cities based on key metrics, from candy stores per capita to potential trick-or-treating stops.
According to WalletHub, the three main decision criteria were trick-or-treating friendliness, Halloween fun, and the weather.
WalletHub’s research evaluated each metric on a 100-point scale, with the highest number of points determining the most favorable conditions for Halloween celebrations.
Below are the WalletHub rankings and total scores for each of the top three cities in Florida. 100 points is the highest score.
6. Miami – 57.18 points 11. Orlando – 53.11 points 19. Hialeah – 51.40 points
According to WalletHub, Miami ranked 6th in Halloween fun, determined by 11 key metrics, from online searches for Halloween parties to pumpkin fields per capita.
According to WalletHub’s complete list of largest U.S. cities, Tampa ranked 28th with a total score of 50.09.
