MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida adjutant has been accused of attacking a woman he met at a Miami nightclub in his downtown apartment this week.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and 54-year-old Daniel Chara, 54, were placed in jail Monday after the woman was physically abused, according to a report by NBC affiliate WTVJ.

An arrest report obtained by the news station says the victim met the eu at the E11even nightclub and was invited to his apartment. Once she reached the bedroom, she sat on his bed, and after the two kissed, Chala asked her a private question, “had previously been answered and confused the victim,” the document said.
The woman walked to the bedroom door and Chara grabbed her around her neck and kissed her. WTVJ says she initially believed it was a sexual engagement and went with it, but his grip gradually got tighter.
He refused despite her begging him to let go, the outlet reported. After a brief struggle, she was able to escape and go to a nearby apartment.
The resident allegedly told officials that he heard someone knock on her door screaming “This guy is about to kill me. He has my bag.”

Through a peep, the resident saw the woman bleeding from her mouth, she put her in and called the front desk to ask for police. Witnesses allegedly recorded the victim returning to Chara’s apartment and getting hers.
Authorities say the woman suffered from visible red marks on her neck and chin, with her right little fingernail and the right ring nail broken.
Chara denied physical contact with the woman “other than kissing her with her hands.” He also insisted that she wanted to lie down in his bed, but he refused, saying it was when she knocked on the door of her neighbor.
When the detective asked him about the potential makeup staining of his shirt, he told them, “Maybe I’ve hugged a girl. I don’t know.”

In a statement from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office obtained by WTVJ, Sheriff Rosie Coldero said:
I’m disappointed [sic] The statement was read to learn that one of my agents had been arrested. When someone has not met those expectations, it hurts our profession and the trust of our people.
Chara was arrested on charges of battery and false imprisonment. The judge set the bond at $1,000.
This marks the second Miami-Dade official arrested this month. On Easter Sunday, Miami-Dade police officers allegedly attacked his wife about 40 times. He was arrested on charges of battery causing bodily harm and robbery without a firearm or weapon, and was given $50,000 in bonds.
