Florida’s city boasts “attractive” main streets. And it ranks as one of the best in the country.

Safety Harbor ranks 10th on the list of places with “heart-stealing” boulevards, according to results released on April 16th.

“These ten locations with attractive main streets — nominated for expert panels and voted as the best in the US by readers — offer more than just a road,” USA Today’s 10 Best wrote in its report. “These streets are living history, have a vibrant culture and function as the hearts of their community.”

The 10 Best websites publishing vacation-related rankings said they have turned to travel experts and editors to determine the top main streets across the country. The public was then given a month to vote for their favorites.

Why are Florida’s main streets getting taller?

As a result of the recipients’ choice award, Safety Harbor was the only place in Sunshine State to be chosen as a fan favorite. Approximately 17,000 cities recovering from the hurricane that affected the Tampa Bay Area in 2024 were praised in their Main Street setting.

“The Safety Harbor is a calm seaside escape,” wrote 10 Best in the report. “Most of the dining options along Main Street are between 9th Avenue and the city’s name and spa. Safety Harbor also has an open market open on Sundays, which is definitely worth a visit.”

The Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce website states that the city’s main street “back to last year” is “a lot of modern conveniences.” The street is located in the heart of downtown, with restaurants, shops and public spaces, and views of the old Tampa Bay waterfront.

Safety Harbor received the honor less than a month after winning a spot on another 10 best list. These rankings have been named one of the best small towns to visit in the South, reported McClatchy News.

This time, the 10 Best said that the country’s most beloved main street is in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, a drive about 60 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

In addition to Main Street, the 10 Best was named the “Community Space” of the country’s other top ranks. The other categories of Florida winners are:

Bonnet Springs Park in Lakeland for Best Park

* For the best parks, Lake Eora Park in Orlando

*The second best riverwalk along the Tampa River

*Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale is number 7 for the best riverwalk

*The second withlacoochee state trail for the best trail

*A barrier-free park in Boynton Beach for the best playgrounds

In the past, the 10 Best told McClatchy News that it had not revealed how many people voted in the contest.
