Labor Day is Monday (September 1) and provides many central Floridians with extra breaks to spend time with friends and family. Federal Holidays celebrate the American labor movement and the contributions of workers to the United States. To celebrate, there are some suggestions on how to spend a three-day weekend in Orlando and Central Florida.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is hosting “Kennedy Under the Stars” at the Spacey After-hours event. Guests can explore technoglow parties, costume contests, “Cosmic Glow” mini golf, astronaut encounters and greenery, live performers, and themed food and drinks. Tickets are $65 and parking is included. Visitors can also explore the main campus attractions and experiences during the event starting August 30th at 6:30pm on Space Commerceway on Merritt Island. Lakeland’s Silver Moon Drive-In is holding a special screening of “Jaws” to celebrate the film’s 50th anniversary. The film will be screened every night from 8:30pm on August 29th to September. 4. Tickets cost $8 for children over 10, and $3 for children aged 4-9. Visitors under the age of 4 will be admitted free of charge. The theatre is located on the 4100 New Tampa Expressway in Lakeland. Halloween horror night at Universal Studios begins this weekend with 34th year of horror. Explore Goa on some nights during the first weekend of September, October and November. The 5K of workers presented by Southern Timing celebrates American workers by running around Baldwin Lake. The 6th Annual Event pays homage to the Workers’ Day, dedicated to the social and economic outcomes of the country’s workforce.
