These Florida government offices could close this year

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – More than 12 government agencies in Florida could close this year.

The Associated Press reported that the General Services Agency (GSA) has notified landlords that the federal agency will close hundreds of leases of offices and buildings across the United States in the coming months.

The GSA Plan Document obtained by the AP states the dates that many cancellations are expected to be enforced.

Florida’s famous orange gloves may disappear soon

The AP reported that agencies will need to negotiate a new lease or move it elsewhere if they remain open.

According to the Associated Press, here is a list of Florida government buildings that can be closed this year:

Estimated cancellation leases for June 30th:

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Sefner, Florida (1,525 square feet)

Lease for the expected cancellation on August 31:

Doral, Florida (7,747 sq. ft.) Bureau of Labor Statistics, Fort Walton Beach, Florida (15,264 sq. ft.) Animal and Plant Health Testing Services, Haynes, Florida (5,139 sq. ft.) Indian Affairs, Hollywood, Florida (3,000 sq. ft.) U.S. citizens. Naples, Florida (4,862 sq ft) Rural Housing Services, Ocala, Florida (5,591 sq ft) National Bureau of Internal Revenue Service, Sarasota, Florida (12,941 sq ft)

Estimated cancellation leases for September 30th:

US Fish and Wildlife Service (2,700 sq. ft.) Office of US Attorneys, Ocala, FL (8,542 sq. ft.) US Fish and Wildlife Service, Panama City, FL (13,000 sq. ft.) National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Sunrise, FL (1,858 sq. ft.)

Lease for the expected cancellation on December 31st:

National Park Service, Homestead, FL (21,356 sq. ft.) Geological Survey, Tallahassee, FL (3,802 sq. ft.)
