NAPOLIA, Fla. (WJW) — Duane Chapman’s 13-year-old step-grandson, known as the Bounty Hunter dog, was reportedly killed over the weekend after being called an accidental shooting at the hands of the boy’s father.
He allegedly shot and killed his son Anthony in an apartment in Napoli, Florida, according to people and several media outlets, including the Napoli Daily News, citing weekend reports from TMZ, Chapman’s step-school Gregory Zecca, son of Chapman’s current wife Francie.
In a weekend report, Naples Daily News reported that Collier County sheriff’s deputies were investigating the shooting death of their apartment just after 8pm on July 19th. It was called an “isolated incident.”
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with Nexter that “detectives are conducting a thorough investigation into all the elements of this tragic case.”

The Chapmans reportedly told TMZ: “We are grieving as a family in this mysterious and tragic accident and will seek continuous prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandchild.”
Chapman has been best known for his long-standing reality television show “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” and married Francie in 2021. Gregory Zecca is the son of a previous marriage.
Chapman’s former wife, Beth Chapman, passed away in 2019 at the age of 51 after starring with him on the show.
