There are many fires to come and lessons to learn at DC Super Heroes: Discover Your SuperPowers, an interactive exhibit recently installed at the Orlando Science Center.
The sacred skill set, Batman! Hands-on displays are designed to educate you about teamwork, deductions, healthcare, coordination, agility and cognitive thinking. The exhibit begins with news that the bat signal has been stolen, and there are clues to its location and associated villain activities across Gotham City businesses and institutions.
As the proverb says, not all heroes wear capes. However, a rental cape is offered on display.
Here are five takeaways from the “Super Power” exhibition:

Rope mechanism
They took me to a Virtual Golden Lasso. One of the first activities seen in the exhibition is the participants who perform the best Wonder Woman in which participants recover stolen museum items (on-screen) by using a body moment that includes an overhead double loop that wraps the rope with artifacts.
In that same area, people can pilot the museum’s simulated laser beams to pursue cheetahs.

Match Game
Defeat the superpower of observation. The exhibit includes stations that encourage the use of deductions. At the Hall of Justice Control Center, visitors match dangerous scenarios across the United States with the most appropriately enhanced heroes. There is also a scene where the two open the bank safe and the employee rescues the employee has to be locked up in Riddler. There are clues as to which keys to use at the same time. (Our clue: look past the space surrounding the key immediately.)

Two heads
Teamwork is essential to banking challenges and is displayed on multiple displays. In a jewelry store, one person must complete the necklace assembly without looking, without just explaining the partner.

Running
The exhibit seeks to encourage physical and mental exercise. At Star Labs, people can race on the spot and receive a celebration from the digital version of the bright flash. (There is a hand version, but please note that it requires a full palm rather than the fastest fingering strategy.)
The green lantern themed area uses light sequences to hone your wit, and ultimately leads to a scavenger hunt throughout the exhibition, if successful, to a vocabulary activity that saves bat signatures.

Become a hero
Finally, the exhibition preaches that you don’t need to own an actual superpower to become a hero. (We’re looking at you, Dick Grayson.) Proposals such as “become a volunteer” and “become a friend” appear on the sign.
Or maybe a superfriend.
“DC Super Heroes: Discover Your SuperPowers” is produced by the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis and will remain at the Orlando Science Center until September 7th.
The exhibit is also featured at the Adults-only Science Night Live event on Saturday. The out-of-hour sessions include a presentation by environmental scientist and film producer Amy Giannotti and a talk on “Sci-fi Science” by Derek Demeter, planetarium director at Seminole State University.
Cosplay is encouraged. For tickets or more information, please visit osc.org.
