Above video: President Trump promises drastic changes to his joint speech to Congress

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Rep. Maxwell Frost issued a quiet statement Tuesday when he came out of President Donald Trump’s joint speech to Congress.

This came a tense moment following the emission of Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) from the chamber after he rose from his seat and criticized the president.

Frost was among several Democrats who left shortly after the greens were discharged. Includes Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), Ayana Presley (D-Mass.), and Lateefah Simon (D-Calif.), who displayed a message to Trump on his shirt. The president spent many of his speeches, making the longest speech to Congress in modern history, laughing at minorities and ca.

A release from Frost’s office said the strike “sent a loud, clear message that Democrats will fight teeth and claws to protect their democracy.”

While walking out of the room, Frost turns his back on Trump, takes off his suit jacket and reveals he is wearing a T-shirt with the phrase “The King doesn’t live here.” This comes amid criticism from Democrats that Trump sees himself and rules the country like a king.

“Donald Trump is a lot — a liar, a glyfter, a hope — but no matter how hard he tries, the number of Republicans in Congress bend their knees and kiss the ring. He will never be king,” Frost said in a statement.

Other Democrats spoke during their speech, while some Democrats held quiet protests. Some have lifted signs that read “Mask Steel,” “Excluding Medicaid,” and “This is not normal.” Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) displayed various messages on the whiteboard.

Many Democrats wore blue and yellow in support of Ukraine after Trump’s tense and tense exchange with President Voldymir Zelensky in an oval office and a move to withhold military aid from a war-torn country. Other female Democrats wore white or pink to highlight how Trump’s policies affect women and girls. Some members of the Black Caucus in Congress dressed in black to protest.

“The people in this country are watching lies,” Frost said.
