NEW YORK (AP) – Insider accounts being billed as “explosive dispatch” for “seven important years” on Facebook/Meta will be released next week.
Flatiron Books announced Wednesday that “careless people” are scheduled for Tuesday. This memoir is written by Sarah Wynn Williams, former director of global public policy at Meta.
“The ‘careless people’ takes readers into Meta’s boardroom, private jets, and meetings with heads of state, revealing the appetites, excesses, blind spots and priorities of executives Mark Zuckerberg, Cheryl Sandberg and Joel Kaplan.” “Winn Williams portrays this group portrait as a highly flawed, self-interested man, mercilessly indifferent to the prices others pay for their enrichment.”
According to Flatiron, Wynn-Williams will detail Zuckerberg’s efforts to allow China’s Meta and her own efforts to monitor the company for hate speech and misinformation on social media. She adds everything from shocking accounts of workplace harassment and misogyny to Sheryl Sandberg, who earned international acclaim for encouraging women to “lean in” while also engaging in working motherhood to work, to workplace harassment and humiliation. โ
