PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida man has been arrested after he said he shot two solar panel salesmen Monday afternoon.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said two men were heading door to door at Boavadee Lar Lane in Port Charlotte and trying to sell solar panel packaging for the company.
They knocked on the door and were greeted by a woman who was angry at them there and told them to leave.
When they began leaving the property, lawmakers said salesmen heard several gunshots and were later identified as 72-year-old William Williams, who was pointing to a gun.

Investigators said Williams fired several more times towards the salesman. No one was shot during the incident.
The sheriff’s office said the salesman ran to a neighbor’s house, desperately knocked on the door and asked for help. The neighbor put the man in the backyard and called law enforcement officers.
Deputies said they had arrived and had taken Williams into custody.
The neighbor also told deputies he heard several gunshots just before the man knocked on her door.
“Once again, I’m called to the neighbourhood where the firearm was recklessly released. Thankfully, I was not hurt by this individual’s behavior, but I am sure the victim will not forget the fear he felt right away.
A search warrant for Williams’ home was obtained. Inside, detectives said they found multiple firearms and ammunition. They also said they found a shell casing used on the ground and one untouched casing in the grass.
Williams was arrested and charged with assault aggravated with a deadly weapon, and discharged a firearm in public. He is not held at the Charlotte County Jail.
