CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida man has been arrested in two days after he said he dumped more than 500 pounds of garbage on the road for two days.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said it received an illegal dumping report on Drennon Street, Port Charlotte on Tuesday morning.

By the afternoon, detectives had identified the suspect as James Hutchison. James Hutchison confessed his confusion and cleaned it up.

Hutchison was arrested and charged with scattering more than 500 pounds of commercial or dangerous waste, lawmakers said.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said Hutchison was arrested again after he discovered another load that was illegally abandoned on Milan Avenue in Port Charlotte.

Deputies said Hutchison confessed the crime when he was questioned about it.

“When we go deep into stormy season, this type of garbage is not only an eyelash, but also dangerous as it can get into the air in the wind and cause clogs in the drainage system,” the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook. “We want to keep our community beautiful and safe, and we take responsibility for threatening it.”
