The Florida family accused the EMS team of leaving the dying man at home. EMS Disputes argue

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) – An ambulance arrived at Pensacola’s house and returned to the left a few minutes later. By then, it was too late for a man who died of a heart attack on Monday.

His family believes that could have been prevented.

DeSantis beats Randy after winning the Florida election and calls him a “squish” for “fighting people.”

But Escambia County EMS officials said that it was not a complete story.

Michael Clements and his stepfather, Philip Odom, were cleaning up fallen trees that had fallen into their yards from a Sunday storm.

Clements said he and his stepfather had been loading up cut wood on the back of the lawnmower.

“He got on the mower. I turned around and went back to cut the trees,” Clements said. “And when I did it, I heard him.”

“I will never, never, ever forget the sound,” he continued.

He said Odom made a “aah” sound and first met his face in the gravel driveway.

That’s when Clements said he had asked his neighbor Greta Murphy to desperately ask for help.

“I’ll run through to get my phone and call 911,” Murphy said. “And I said, ‘That’s serious, and he might be dead, hurry up.”

Escambia County EMS was dispatched after receiving a call about Odom’s fall at 12:31pm.

“And I basically tell him before them, come, come, come here, come here,” Clements said of what he did about what he did when the ambulance came in front of their house six minutes later.

However, Clements and Murphy said the ambulance had been kicked out.

Davis Wood of EMS, Escambia County, issued a statement explaining why the crew left.

When they arrived at the scene, some people were acting aggressively, yelling indecent screams. Following standard protocols, EMS notified law enforcement and left the scene until it was deemed safe. ”

Around 12:41pm, Dispatch received two additional calls from the first call indicating that the individual had stopped breathing. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and Escambia County Firefighters responded, and EMS quickly returned to the scene to provide care.

Philip Odom passed away at the age of 77. He was a veteran of Purple Heart in Vietnam and loved his family with great love.

“Every day I have to think of it as the reason he passed away,” Clements said. “Because if I hadn’t been standing here, if they hadn’t introduced me, they might have stopped and left the truck and helped him.”
