They will be breaking the drums (and flaps!) at the festival park this weekend. Here we promise to host Florida’s first R&B Wingfest on Saturday (March 29th) by Florida foodies and music fans.

“Many of the events here in Orlando are food-based, but we wanted to do something based on food and music,” says Tristan Russell, founder of the festival.

“Many of the people who are doing this event are new to us, and this gives us a platform to showcase everything they can and what they have to offer,” says Russell, who has now closed his business in favor of lifting others on the field.

“Instead of me cooking, I wanted to create a culinary community for others.”

The 18+ ticket-enabled events, which run from noon to 7pm, will feature $20 for general admission, eight different raffles and access to over 80 vendors, half wings and other offerings in a vast flavour. Live music runs all day long, along with exciting competitions. Guest judges (rosters of social media influencers like Chef Jubon, Daron Chef, Morgan Hanbury and more) will determine Orlando’s Best Mac & Cheese and Orlando’s Best Wing Sauce (some are available for purchase within the vendor field). Both professional chefs and talented amateurs can participate for a fee of $35.

Guests who think they can handle the heat can enter the Spicy Wing Challenge sponsored by Buffalo’s Boss Wings. If you try the most in the 2-minute time frame, you can try your best at $200 and a custom R&B Wingfest necklace.

Food vendors include Teal Kitchen, Max Stro, Dee’s Quick Fix, Dee’s Delicious Eat, Supreme Wings, Shades Kitchen, Sage’s Kitchen and more. Plant-based wing fans also share the Oxford method as they offer their own brand of drums and flaps.

In addition to live music, presents, raffles and vendor markets, guests look forward to DJ battles featuring blended R&B hits.
