Clearwater, Fla. (WFLA) – Tensions have risen between Dr. Thomas Kosovsky, a plastic surgeon at the trial for the murder of Largo’s lawyer, and his legal team, who has withdrawn from his case.
A bomb charge from Kosovsky’s lawyer, Bjorn Blanband, was revealed to Kosovsky during a motion hearing in Clearwater’s courtroom.

The defendant accused his legal team of fraud and forgery, amid other ethical issues and disputes.
“Conflicts are money,” Kosowski said. “Bjorn basically wants to pay, that’s the dispute.”
In response, Blanband demanded that he quit as his lawyer, and Kosovsky was caught off guard.
“This is all a complete surprise to me,” Kosowski said.

Kosowski was charged with the murder of Steven Cozzi, a lawyer for Pinellas County in 2023. He is currently facing the death penalty for first-degree murder.
Brunband said prison records between Kosovsky and his mother would fire him and sue him for the money.
“He’s making sure my mother tells me not to get the penny and asks me to return all the dimes he paid me, and I can say that I don’t know I’m really definitive,” Blanband said. “There are other things I don’t realize what I’m saying.
Kosowski responded in public court that he would waive the privileges of his lawyers and clients. The judge then sent the defendant and his legal team temporarily to meet and resolve their internal issues, but ultimately granted Brunvand’s request.
Kosowski returns to court on May 9th, where he will represent himself or with an entirely new lawyer.
