The full moon in February, known as the “snow moon,” peaks at 8:53am on Wednesday, February 12th. .2025 features three supermoons later in the year, occurring in October, November and December.

February was a big month for astronomical events. To kick off the moon there was an alignment of six planets, or “planet parade,” and for the rest of the moon there were five planets visible through binoculars or small telescopes.

And while the full moon in February is not a supermoon or blue moon, it falls just before Valentine’s Day and fills up with the naked eye two nights later on Valentine’s night.

The full moon in February is called the “snow moon.” And the reason for that is very simple.

“Depending on location and climatic conditions, February can be among the snowiest of the year, particularly in the Ohio River Valley in the eastern and central US, and in the Coastal Pacific Northwest. that applies to,” says the farmer’s yearbook.

Furthermore, this midwinter spot lacks many other highly distinctive features (both harvested and those that don’t bloom).

The February Snow Moon will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 8:53am.

The full moon really stays full for a little while, but it appears to be full to the naked eye for a few days.

“The moon appears to be filled with your eyes for two or three nights,” according to Earthsky. “However, astronomers are considered full at the moment when the moon is precisely defined.

How many Supermoons will you have in 2025?

There will be three supermoons in 2025, but you will have to wait until the end of the year to see them.

The 2025 Supermoon occurs as follows:
