Augusta County, Va. (Wavy) – Zachary Crus, a 24-year-old brother of Parkland School Shooter, is illegal at multiple school facilities, including Wilson Middle School, Wilson High School, a valley and valley career, and a valley career. He was arrested on February 4th for breaking into the building. Technical Center in Virginia.

Authorities reported that Cruz was observed on the complex site of the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Centre on January 25th at about 11:30pm.
The incident prompted a joint investigation that includes Woodrow Wilson Police Department, Virginia State Police and the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office.
Surveillance footage recovered from January 25th showed him trying to open an exterior door and peer into the school.
Cruz was charged with counting three misdemeanors of trespassing. However, Cruz’s lawyer, Amina Matheny Willard, said his fourth amendment rights had been violated during his arrest.
In a press release, Matheny-Willard said Augusta County Councilman had obtained three arrest warrants by misrepresenting the magistrate that there were no indications of “trespassing.” Matheny-Willard said this was not actually true, and that Cruz was on public property.
Matheny-Willard said she and Cruz are planning to file civil rights lawsuits against the Virginia State Police, Woodrow Wilson Police Department, Augusta County and the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a recent Facebook post by Sheriff Donald L. Smith, Cruz is a free man.
In that Facebook post, Smith has also addressed safety concerns in the area. The post says:
“The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has acknowledged the recent release of Zachary P. Cruz and growing concern from parents and community members about live streaming videos recorded at various schools within today’s Wilson School Complex. It’s there.
“The video, which was live streamed by Cruz’s lawyers and later posted on social media, would like to assure the public that Cruz did not exist on any county school property. In fact, the video was filmed and initially appeared. Zachary Cruz remained incarcerated at Middle River Regional Prison on February 6, 2025 at 3:43pm.
“We understand how much we are struggling with this situation for you, your family and our community. Our top priority is the safety and security of all students, staff and community members. I would like to assure you that the issue is taken very seriously.
“In conjunction with administrations at Virginia State Police, Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center and all schools within the Wilson Complex, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is actively monitoring local schools and keeping them safe and secure. I’m working on.
“The principal of Augusta County Public Schools Eric Bond and his staff are in constant contact with my office regarding the safety of schools in all counties. Our agency is on and around the school grounds. We are implementing advanced security measures, including the increasing presence of law enforcement agencies.
“In addition, we will closely monitor potential threats and communicate with school staff to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken.
“Note: ACSO has numerous school resource officers assigned to the Wilson Complex, the Virginia State Police Regional Office and the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center Police Department, all of which are located near this area.
“We encourage parents, students and staff to maintain suspicious activity and report suspicious activity. The collective efforts of law enforcement, school officials and communities are safe for everyone. It is essential to maintaining an environment.

Cruz’s next hearing will be May 1st, according to Augusta County General District Court.
