BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A 22-year-old Texas man was arrested Thursday after he said he murdered his grandparents and shot his neighbor.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said they were called to their homes on Washington Street and Milwaukee Avenue in West Melbourne after multiple people were shot and killed Wednesday night.

Sheriff Wayne Ivy said Texas’ Jeremy Campbell shot his grandmother, Mary White, inside the house.

Ivy said Campbell’s grandfather, George White, went to his neighbor’s house for help and told him his wife was shot.

“As he was asking for help from a neighbor across the street from his house, another round of shot fired up, hit him and hit the person he helped and ran,” Ivy said.

Mary and George died of injuries. The 25-year-old neighbor is expected to recover in full.

Campbell was arrested and charged with two counts of two murders.

He was booked to the Brevard County Jail without being held.
