TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Tampaman’s loved ones are seeking an investigation into his death after saying that Sayfollah Musallet was killed while his family was visiting the Middle East.
Musallet’s family and leaders held a press conference on Monday with the Florida Chapter of the US Council of Islamic Relations (CAIR) requesting an investigation into the actions from the US government and his death.
“Where is the rage from our government? Where is the accountability? Where is the justice for grieving families?” Cair and Hiba Rahim said.
According to his family, the 20-year-old was spending time with his loved ones on the West Bank of Israeli tribes when he was beaten and died.
“He and the other two from his family had set up tents and stayed there for the night to protect their land, and they were ambushed by an illegal settler mob,” Rahim said.
Rahim said the attack was part of a larger pattern of Palestinians guarding to prevent illegal settlers from taking over.
Israeli security agencies and Israeli police said they were looking for Musaloo’s death and the death of his friend.
Kamil Musalet, a 20-year-old father, wants the US to intervene and investigate.
“They are on illegal land. It’s not theirs. They demand that the US government do something about it,” Musalou said.
In Tampa, Musalou owned an ice cream shop off Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
His uncle spoke at a press conference and explained his nephew.
“He was very loving and caring, and like all of the other 20-year-olds, everyone loved him,” Hesam Musallet said. “He wanted to become a businessman, expand, find a wife, start a family, but that dream has become shorter.”
“We want to emphasize. The Tampa community is devastated by this loss. He is a member of our community. But he is not only a member of the Muslim community, but he is an American. He is Floridian.
Musallet’s family and Cair-Florida leaders will be staying up all night on Saturday as their 20-year-old is planned.
