TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa mom spoke after a fatal mass shooting at Florida State University, detailing her daughter’s horrifying experiences.
“I just called my daughter, barricaded behind the door,” student mom Grace said in a video posted on Tiktok on Thursday.

Grace said her child was in the psychology building for two hours, about half a mile from the Student Union, and the defendant shooter fired a shot in the area.
“I was put out of the SWAT team, like she and her 50 classmates,” she added.
On Thursday afternoon, Leon County deputy Phoenix Eekner was reported, and the shooter killed two foodservice workers and injured six people on the FSU campus.
The Tallahassee Police Department said five casualties were injured in the shooting, while another was injured while fleeing the shooting. Tallahassee Memorial Hospital has continued to treat the victims as of Friday morning, with two patients expected to be discharged on Friday, with three improving and one remaining “fair.”
The two deceased victims were identified as foodservice workers, including Aramark employees and campus meal employees.

“I don’t think I’m more grateful in my life, I’m more grateful,” said the Seminole parent. “I’m grateful that she’s fine.”
Grace toressed, adding how sorry she was for the parents of the shooting victim.
The university is staying up all night on Friday to honor the victims. Resources are available to students from 8am to 5pm at Askew Student Life Center.
