According to a new report from Coworkingcafe, Tampa is recognized as one of the country’s best cities for recent university graduates. The city was ranked 9th among the 100 largest US cities rated for carrier firing potential, making its first appearance in the top 10.
The report assessed cities based on key factors such as employment availability, median income for recent graduates, affordability, lifestyle amenities, and access to coworking spaces. Tampa scored particularly high for its numerous entry-level jobs per capita and its growing reputation as a destination for young professionals in emerging industries.
“Tampa’s debut in the top 10 reflects the strong economic momentum of the city and its appeal to recent graduates seeking opportunities without the high cost associated with metropolitan areas,” the report said.
Supporting Wallethub’s data reflected Tampa’s strengths, highlighting the availability of city entry-level jobs, robust economic growth and increased appeal to residents ages 25-34.
Tampa’s economic situation has diversified in recent years, with growth in areas such as technology, finance, healthcare and business services. The city also benefits from a relatively affordable cost of living compared to the average for its citizens, making it an attractive option for young people looking to build economic security early in their careers.
The CoworkingCafe study also praised the increase in Tampa’s coworking space. It provides flexibility and networking opportunities for remote workers, freelancers and startup employees.
Tampa was only two of the Florida cities that won the top 10. Orlando also received the high mark and was ranked just in front of Tampa.
