Tampa, Fla. – All eyes are in the Tampa Bay Rays this morning. With the press conference set in the Steinbrenner field, the new owner of the team will lay out their vision for the future.
The billion-dollar sale was recently finalized by a group led by Florida developer Patrick Zarapski, ending Stuart Sternberg’s nearly 20 years of running as the owner of the Rays.
Zalupski is CEO of Dream Finders Homes, a Florida-based real estate developer.
Bill Cosgrove, CEO of Union Home Mortgage, and Ken Babby, CEO of Fast Forword Sports Group, are also part of the group.
The roof of Tropicana Field is still undergoing repairs, but the team is scheduled to play there next season.
“It’s about as close to familiarity. You know you rent it. You’re learning in an environment all year round. Again, that’s not an excuse for our records, but Trop is our home. That’s what we know.

Major League Baseball has given the full approval to the deal and now the focus is shifting. One leader with the Rays says they are excited about the change.
“We can win, we can find ways to do it, and it’s the people’s fault. And with all the accounts, the group that has Patrick and the group that comes in, they care about people, and they recognize the quality people here.
The press conference will be at 11:30am.
