Okaloosa County, Fla. (WKRG) — Animals at the Emerald Coast Zoo are eating delicious food after a shoplifting incident, authorities say.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office shared on Facebook that it all began when Central District Deputies responded to shoplifting on Publix on Eglin Parkway.
The suspect allegedly left the store without paying, putting packaged steak and brouturst in a diaper bag.
Deputies recovered the packaged meat with surveillance and the help of employees.
“Publix politely donated the recovered steaks and brats to the Emerald Coast Zoo instead of wasting them,” the OCSO Post said.

An OCSO aide delivered the meat to Emerald Coast Zoo Director Richard Derrider.
Director Deridder will distribute steak and Bratwurst, according to the post.
