Orlando – Detectives arrested on the side of the Panhandle Expressway, when a man was Tiffany & Co. The four diamond earrings were retrieved two weeks after engulfing the gemstones, authorities said Friday.

The Orlando Police Department said the end of four earrings stolen from Tiffany at the Millennia mall in Orlando was recovered earlier this month from Jathan Lawrence Guilder, 32, of Houston, Texas.

The three earrings were collected two days before, along with two unidentified diamond earrings. Guilder was transferred from prison to hospital, but detectives were waiting to gather evidence, police said in a news release.

The stolen earrings for the four people matched the serial numbers of the gems they photographed from the Tiffany Store last month, detectives said.

According to the arrest affidavit, Guilder took the earrings and tried to take a diamond ring totaling $1.3 million from the store.

Guilder was arrested on February 26th on suspicion of robbery for masks and first-degree grand larceny and is in custody in Orange County, records show. Guilder has been charged in a similar case at the Tiffany store in Woodlands Township, Texas since 2022. He has also failed 48 separate mistakes from Colorado, according to the affidavit.

In the Orlando incident, records show that Guilder enters the store, asks about some expensive gems and negotiates a sale on behalf of the Orlando Magic player. The employee took him to a private room to see the items. After a while, he jumped up, grabbed the item and tried to leave the room with them, the affidavit said.

The employee tried to prevent Guilder from slap the ring from his hand and slap the ring from his hand, but he managed to escape from the room with two earrings and leave the store. Guilder pushed and pulled the employee’s arm in an argument, causing the employee to suffer visible injuries treated by the Orlando Fire Department.

OPD officials responded to the scene around 2pm, allowing law enforcement to track Guilder down to the parking lot, identifying his vehicle. According to the affidavit, FHP spotted him on Interstate 10.

According to the affidavit, Guilder resisted officers during a traffic stop and swallowed several items when detained. He was booked at the Washington County Jail before being moved to Orange County. A live scan of his stomach in prison showed some foreign items. The police suspected it was a jewel.

The affidavit said Guilder asked Washington Jail staff, “Are you planning on getting charged with something in my stomach?” Also, the arrested FHP troopers say they heard Guilder say, “I should have thrown them out the window” while he was in custody in an FHP vehicle.
